worldtrip backpacking budgeting
I’m always asked how much my trip cost me and to be honest I’m not really sure. All I can say is that it seems like a lot – but is it?! All in all it probably cost me about £6000 pounds – RTW flights, insurance, travelling costs… everything! How much would I have spent if I’d stayed in the UK for that year? – Probably more!
How much do you need to save?
Well that depends on what you are planning to do…think about your ‘wish-list’. Bungee Jumping in New Zealand, sky-diving in OZ and white-water rafting in South America all cost money.
Working whilst travelling is a good option to claw some of that money back if you get in a tight spot or want to save for that 3 day jungle trek…especially Australia where jobs for travellers are plentiful – bar work, working in a hostel and fruit picking just spring to mind.
So, can you afford it? Well…can you?
Here’s the moment of truth…download my balance sheet, get yourself a pen and a calculator and find out. Alternatively complete the online form…
