worldtrip highs and lows

As the end of each travelogue section I listed my highs and lows. Well with this section it is going to be of a grander scale. So here we go... lets start with the unfortunate lows first:

Lows

Sometimes getting stuck on my own as meeting people can be daunting this is the bad part of travelling on your own, but having said that, the plus points of solo travel easily out way this.

Getting stuck on the [Nile Felucca] with two whinging girls.

Nearly getting mugged in [New Delhi] a truly scary moment like I've never before witnessed and hope too never again.

Travelling from [Da`tong] to [Xian] (China) with the worst cold I've ever had a real stinker!

Bali!

The oppressive heat in Egypt in July! (50°C).

The horrendous views of [squalor in India].

The abuse I gave my body whilst in China and Hong Kong.

Highs

Okay, now it's time for the highlights. When thinking about this list it was very difficult to choose which events were the real highs as the whole trip has been fantastic. So I'll go for the real awe inspiring times:

Seeing the [Pyramids] (for a second time) - Nothing can describe the sight of seeing these marvels, so I wont even try. They are truly magnificent. The sheer size and how they could have possibly been built is staggering.

[The Taj Mahal] — Probably the most beautiful building I have ever seen. To see it change colour in the setting sun is a real treat...WOW!

Hong Kong — The city of all cities! I made myself a promise whilst looking over [Victoria Harbour] at night that if I ever get married again, I'll ask her there. The most romantic place on earth, it totally took my breath away. The best Chinese food in the world, `Happy Garden Noodle and Congee Kitchen` (
76 Canton Rd). The view of the city from the top of [Victoria Peak]

China — Probably the best place on my trip! I had such fun travelling with [Corrick] and [Chuljay] and the Chinese people and their culture is out of the world.

Vietnam — What can I say... the best county in SE Asia (IMHO). Travelling with [Dan] and [Jason]... both now life long friends... cheers guys!

Thailand — Bangkok has to be one of the greatest cities on earth. Yes, I know it can be loud, dirty, smoggy and in various parts sleazy but NO round-the-world trip is complete without a visit to this magical place. Just sitting on the tourist backpackers mecca, [Ko San Road], is enough to spend a day people watching. I'll always be able to go back to Bangkok. The islands, [Koh Pagn Ngan] and [Ko Samui] are great to get away from the dirt for a while... there is quite a bit of dirt on Koh Pagn Ngan, I WARN YOU! but that said, still a brilliant place... if partying is your thing try and coincide your visit with the full moon party.

and not forgetting, meeting Sinead, the true love of my life!!!
